Mariko TAKAHASHI is a senior staff writer at the Asahi Shimbun. She was employed by the Asahi Shimbun as a journalist in 1979, and has been staff writer of the science news section, Tokyo, staff writer and editor of Monthly Science KAGAKU ASAHI, deputy editor of the science news section, Osaka, editorial writer and science editor. She holds a B.Sc. (physics) degree from the University of Tokyo.
She is a board member of Japanese Association of Science and Technology Journalists(JASTJ) and had been a treasurer of WFSJ from 2002 to 2007.
